Prisons, winners of the 2021 season, will now meet last season's champions in the final

Kenya Prisons women’s volleyball team are through to the finals of the Kenya Volleyball Federation Playoffs after out-staging Kenya Pipeline in a third-game decider at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

Josp Barasa’s side, which won and lost on Saturday to Kenya Pipeline, were the clear favorites on Sunday, winning the first two sets en route to a 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 18-25, 25-21) victory.

The excitement by Prisons players and staff was visible, as they overcame the odds of the former league champions, and after failing to capitalize a match point at 24-20, finished off business while receiving to set a date with KCB in the finals.

The deciding match on Sunday had been preceded by the two teams splitting in the first two of three games in the semifinals.

Pipeline took Game One with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-16) win before Pipeline responded by winning 3-1 (25-11, 25-17, 16-25, 28-26).

Fellow finalists KCB on the other hand swept the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) by winning their first two games on Saturday.

That means that in next weekend’s action, Pipeline will take on DCI for bronze.
